Countdown to 20
I had no intention of sitting down to write a series when I started ONCE TEMPTED. Yet, as stories often do, the characters blossomed before me and it was the beginning of my love affair with the Danvers family that continues today.
ONCE TEMPTED opens with the death of Orlando Danvers, the youngest of the Danvers brothers. Never have I regretted killing off a character more than shooting Orlando through the heart. Truly, don’t write me, there is no precedent-setting three day Regency operation that will bring him back. And believe me, a lot of you … Read more »

This book, Mad About the Duke, is the story inspired my upcoming Bachelor Chronicles spin-off, Mad about the Major. Here is where the Duke of Parkerton finally meets his match.
But the wait for Parkerton’s story took some time. He first appeared at the end of This Rake of Mine, chastising his younger brother, Mad Jack Tremont, to get out of jail and go marry Miranda. I sort of fell in love with him the moment he stepped on the page. He is so stuffy and ducal and proper. He just needed his life turned upside down.… Read more »

Moving along to the next installment of my #TBT look the Bachelor Chronicles series (in advance of the June 2nd release of Mad About the Major), this week we are going to look at How I Met My Countess.
Opening up what I think of as the last third of the Bachelor Chronicles is a trio of books about the Widows Standon. The idea for the book came from Love Letters of a Duke, where the hero laments having these warring dowagers from the previous heirs driving him crazy. I wondered about these three and then came … Read more »

In my continuing #TBT look at my Bachelor Chronicles series (in advance of the June 2nd publication of Mad About the Major), today’s smack down is more of a cover standoff: Confessions of a Little Black Dress v. Memoirs of a Scandalous Red Dress.
A little background might be in order–after writing Love Letters from a Duke, Avon asked me to come up with a title that had the same sort of communication theme. I absolutely wracked my brain trying to find a “Letters” sort of title for Tally’s book. And then, driving down the highway one … Read more »

Keeping up with my #TBT retrospective of The Bachelor Chronicles in preparation for the release of Mad About the Major, I’ve always found it interesting how divided readers can be about their deep and abiding affection for either This Rake of Mine or Love Letters from a Duke, the 2nd and 3rd installments in the Bachelor Chronicles series.
I call it Rake v. Love Letters.
Personally I think it really divides this way:
Team Mad Jack v. Team FelicityNow what isn’t to love about Mad Jack Tremont? He’s a rake

Thank you so much for having me here today! What a fun way to learn about those of us behind the melt-your-heart pages of romance books.

Today bestselling Regency romance author Olivia Kelly has come to visit us, and let us in on five things we probably don’t know about her. Welcome, Olivia!
1) What is the very first romance novel that you read? Nora Robert’s Montana Sky. Well, that was the first “genre” romance I read. I’d read plenty of romance in the science fiction and fantasy novels I devoured as a teen. It just wasn’t very interesting to me if it didn’t at least have one romance subplot! But my first historical romance was Sabrina Jeffries. I think it was her Royal Brotherhood … Read more »
