Little drummer boy. But NOT the Bing Crosby/David. Bowie version. It has to be either a Choir or the Bob Seger version!

My favorite traditional Christmas song is “Oh, Come All Ye Faithful”–we had to sing that marching in for all our Xmas programs as a kid (back when you could still sing religious songs at school). My favorite non-tradational song is “Christmas Wrapping” by the Waitresses. Who wouldn’t like to see the guy you’ve been hot for all year standing in the cashier lane with you??!! π Happy Holidays!

For me, definitely Rudolph (Gene Autry version, thank you very much!!! LOL), Little Drummer Boy and Do You Hear What I Hear. Don’t ever bug me with Silent Night. Hate that one… well, instrumental only is okay, but otherwise… no way. LOL

I love Christmas music. I’ve had it playing on the radio and in the car since Nov 18 when a local station started a week early. Yay!
I’ve many favorites but I think the one that touches me the most is “O Holy Night” especially sung by Josh Groban. Gives me chills.
Merry Christmas!

I have until 12/17 to get them done, but between xmas parties for my family, hubby’s family, both offices, gramma’s 75th bday, I better get crackin!

I’m not big on Thanksgiving because my children still live in Michigan. But I am preparing my trip to visit them for a couple of days. And we celebrate the holiday the week before the actual day since I refuse to be in a traveling mode that weekend! Did it once, won’t do it again!
I think my favorite Holiday song is ‘The Christmas Song’ (aka Chestnuts roasting on an open fire) sung by Nat King Cole. There were others singing it, but I like his version best. But then, being a country music fan, I have to say I love to listen to Alabama singing ‘Christmas in Dixie’ and ‘Thistlehair, the Christmas Bear’.

I love all Christmas songs! I used to be in a choir so we sang many many songs during Christmas time every year. But one of my all time favorites is Away In A Manger, just because I still remember singing it in Church way back in 1st grade, it was the first time I had ever sung in front of such a large group of people.

My all-time favorite holiday song is Vince Guaraldi’s “Christmastime is Here”, from the Charlie Brown TV special. Actually the whole album is my favorite!
And I’m not getting anything for anyone this year – I’m making all my gifts! I just have to finish off the neckwarmer I made for my mom, and the scarf for my daughter-in-law, and I’ll be done.

My favorite holiday song is “Oh Holy Night.” It’s such a beautiful song. And I do always look forward to the holidays. I love seeing all the lights on people’s homes, love having a tree, love spending time with my family and friends. This year I’ll be making special photo gifts for everyone. Happy Holidays to you!

Hi Elizabeth;
My favorite holiday song is Hark The Herald Angels Sing. My favorite secular song is one that I can’t for the life of me remember the title to but part of it goes “City sidewalks, busy sidewalks, dressed in holiday style, in the air there’s a feeling of Christmas”.

Don’t know if I could pick just one song, but I love the classic carols like Silent Night, etc.
Most pressing thing is cleaning the house… most pressing and most overwhelming, too.

I actually have several favorite holiday songs. So here’s my top 3:
1) John Lennon – “Happy Xmas”
2) Trans-Siberian Orchestra – “Christmas Eve-Sarajevo”
3) Amy Grant – “Grown Up Christmas List”
I do so love holiday music. Makes the world seem a little brighter, even during bleak times.

My favorite Christmas song is “O, Come All Ye Faithful.” The most pressing thing I need to find is buttons for the sweater I’m knitting my oldest grand-nephew.

My favorite Christmas song is Mary did you know. It’s the song I never can hear to much of. The most pressing thing I need to buy for the holiday, would be a new tree. My son is allergic to traditional pines, so we are going for a fake tree this year. It will be the first time ever, and my oldest is 14. Have a blessed holiday.

I have a hard time picking just one favorite song, but my top ones are I Saw Three Ships (I am always disappointed how rarely I hear it on the radio during Christmas season), God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen (especially the Barenaked Ladies/Sarah Mclachlan version), and O Come All Ye Faithful.

I love all the Christmas Songs and Hymns but the one that really speaks to my heart is Faith Hill’s “A Baby Changes Everything.” When Christ came into the world, He changed it all for us. That is what this season is all about. The most pressing thing for me is for me to get my Christmas Tree up and all the decorating done before it is Christmas! Merry Christmas!

A radio station spoof song: “Walking round in Women’s Underwear” sung by a man with a deep voice to the tune of Winter Wonderland. The whole thing was funny but I remember one line:
In the Mall..there’s a teddy
With straps…like spaghetti
A beautiful sight, I’m happy tonight

To hear the song, Oh Holy Night, always brings tears to my eyes. And the most pressing gift this season I am looking for is a gift for my 68 year old father. He has always been robust and full of good health, until this past August when he got brain cancer. He is going through treatments and responding finally but the cancer in his brain caused him to lose his speech. I would love to find something to help him communicate.
Just began reading your books and am enjoying your writing very much!

My fav is a newer Christmas song. It’s called 2000 Miles, and the version I like is by Cold Play. Love it. I even listen to it in the middle of the summer too.
Although I’ve always loved the one about I want a Hippopotamus for Christmas too. π

My favorite is “Santa Baby” by Madonna, right up there with that is “The Little Drummer Boy” by Bob Seger. Although I have to also mention any traditional song that was done by Dean Martin, Bing Crosby, Nat King Cole and Doris Day. My mom had a album of Christmas songs done by them all, we always listened to it when decorating our tree. Wish I could remember the name of the album.

I love the music of Manheim Steamroller–I won’t listen to them any other time of year but the holidays.
The only Christmas gift that gives me a headache each year is my father’s ’cause he is soooooo hard to buy for! I’m thinking of being predictable and buying him a couple of books I think he would enjoy.

My favorite carol is Silent Night. I also like In the Bleak Midwinter but everyone else always says it’s too dismal.
For background music over the season I like Jonah Lewie Stop the Cavalry, which is always included in UK Christmas song mixes because it was first released at this time of year and includes the line “Wish I was at home for Christmas”, even though it’s not really very Christmassy if you listen to all the lyris!

Wow, there are so many that I sing (under my breath) during the holidays! My most recent favorite is “All I Want for Christmas is You” from the movie “Love, Actually” NOT the Mariah Carey version.
